Tennis Elbow

Are you experiencing pain in your elbow every time you lift something, make a fist, grip an object or when you shake hands?

You may be suffering from a condition referred to as Tennis Elbow. Despite its name, you can still get tennis elbow even if you've never been near a tennis court!

Tennis elbow usually develops over time. Repetitive motions, like gripping a racket, pruning the garden or carrying a baby, can strain the muscles and put too much stress on the tendons. That constant tugging can eventually cause microscopic tears in the tissue.

With rest, ice, stretching and physical therapy, tennis elbow normally settles down within 6-8 weeks.

If however, you are still suffering elbow pain and you have tried “everything” you should consider Radial Shock Wave Therapy (RSWT).

Radial Shock Wave Therapy (RSWT) is an advanced treatment for chronic tendon injuries that applies high frequency shock waves directly to a tendon via a specific applicator. This triggers a healing response inside the tendon that otherwise has stopped healing by itself.

A course of treatment is usually 3-4 sessions to promote healing within the tendons. With appropriate management and tailored exercises the results speak for themselves.

Tennis elbow can be debilitating, do something about your health and speak with one of our professionals about whether RSWT is right for you.
